Turn off word wrap for terminal outputs?

Is there a simple way to turn off the word wrapping in the default terminal for Ubuntu/Mint? So far I haven’t found anything from recent years and there doesn’t seem to be a toggle or anything in the preferences menu. Most relevant threads are from like 14 years ago suggesting less command. If not, are there alternative terminals that have word wrap disabled that I can use on Mint?
