I shipped a 4,600-line fix for 220 pages serving an empty shell to crawlers, and fixed a fifteen-line lookup bug beside it as an afterthought. Two weeks of data say the afterthought did most of the work — because those ten bad links weren't dead ends, they were duplicate factories, and every link checker passed them. They returned 200.
