My area has been plagued with forest fires over the past few months. I was looking at tools to contribute air quality reading. One service I found was called Purple. But here’s the kicker - You contribute data for free. But they CHARGE you for API calls. After all this setup, I was furious that some company was going to profit. I immediately returned their kit and got a open source one that contributed to OpenAQ.
