2026-08-20 Python Steering Council meeting summary

We continued to discuss the JIT and the current state of PEP 836 - JIT Go Brrr: The Path to a Supported JIT Compiler for CPython. The SC has not yet been asked to pronounce on the PEP, so this is continued discussion after the SCOH session. We will draft our public response and continue to iterate on it.
