A Self-Contained Note on the Compactness of Tiling Spaces
The compactness of tiling spaces equipped with the standard tiling metric is a classical result. Nevertheless, a complete proof in which all the relevant details are made explicit, to the best of our knowledge, does not seem to be available in the literature. The purpose of this note is to give a self-contained and pedagogical treatment of the compactness theorem, providing a complete and carefully explained proof. We hope that this exposition will provide a useful reference and contribute to a clearer and more accessible understanding of this fundamental result in the theory of tilings.
