Generic Triviality of Linear Automorphisms of Complete Intersections

We prove that a general smooth complete intersection of positive dimension and codimension at least 2 over an algebraically closed field has trivial linear automorphism group, except in the case of two quadrics. The proof uses incidence varieties and treats separately prime-to-characteristic and unipotent automorphisms.
