The web cares much less about where you are than what you are

I rented eight servers on five continents to map geo-blocking and found almost none. Only 8.4% of the top 500 sites answered differently by country. A fifth refused a scripted request from everywhere, and fourteen served my home broadband while refusing every datacentre.
