Best workflow for editing python script on laptop and pushing changes manually via usb to handheld machine?

This is making debugging rather a nuisance. At first I made dummy folders on the laptop so I could do most tests by running the script on this laptop machine but now I am wanting to run the .bat file, which isn’t on the laptop I am copying the edits across manually by usb but it gets irritating when I see errors in the script and then having to go back to make edits on laptop, push again manually, only to find another erorr and so forth.
