Opinions needed: Remote Mac Minis vs local Macs for iOS workflows

Hi all, I'd love to hear your opinions on using remote/cloud Mac Minis for iOS app builds and development. In your opinion: Is remote Xcode development ever smooth enough to be practical? Or are remote Mac Minis mostly valuable just as background CI/CD runners? Curious to hear what experienced developers think
