I installed Google's TorchTPU wheel — 969MB — on a machine with no TPU and ran the README example

Google open-sourced TorchTPU with a 'one-word change' pitch: swap cuda for tpu. I audited the repo (2,092 files, 851 op variants vs the claimed 450, a 365-entry unregistered-ops list) and installed the wheel on a TPU-less VM. The README example failed at device-string parsing — before it ever looked for hardware.
