Tokio: shutdown, generation, driver tick, readiness components

Hi everyone! I am building a small async runtime for learning. Could someone please tell me about these components that are used in tokio for handling io (seems like they aren't using generation anymore but would like to know about it anyways). Sadly I cannot find any document explaining these, so would really appreciate some concrete explanations. thank you.
