AI Is Changing Software Development. The Biggest Opportunity Isn't Writing Code Faster

AI is changing more than how we write code. It's challenging the traditional software development lifecycle and creating new opportunities for collaboration across product, UX, and engineering. Drawing on my experience as an engineering leader, I explore how AI-assisted development is shifting our focus from implementation to problem-solving, why mentorship and engineering judgment matter more than ever, and how we can use AI to create better software by bringing people closer together—not replacing them.
