September in Servo: , rounded rectangles, and more!
> Servo 0.7.0 contains all of the changes we landed in September, spanning 527 commits! > <progress>, rounded rectangles, and more! > Plus new CSS functions and WEbGL2 improvements. In the 3 weeks since the last update (October 18th to November 6th), Web Platform Tests (WPT) Pass Rates [https://servo.org/wpt/] went from: - Score: 64.3% -> 66.9% (+2.6%) - Sub-Score: 92% -> 93.5% (+1.5%) Weirdly though, the pass rates, when I took them on October 18th, were: - Score: 67.8% - Sub-Score: 93.4% So, the October scores are now shown to be lower than previously. I’m thinking this is due to an increase in the number of “tests” (I’ve seen this happen with their test scores before). Current number of sub-tests: “(2,050,129/2,190,725)” My very rough understanding is a web browser becomes “usable” between 70-80%. So not too far off the lower end, but if they don’t already have all the tests accounted for (reasonable), than it’s unclear how far away they are from a daily driving web engine they are. cross-posted from: https://lemmy.linuxuserspace.show/post/1451630 [https://lemmy.linuxuserspace.show/post/1451630] Edit: Apparently programming.dev was down/had a DNS issue, the first time I tried to cross post and my post was dropped. This is a re-cross-posting.
